As well as a bag of oyster and shitake mushrooms...
And a big bag of lettuce and napa cabbage!
It's been fun planning meals around our mystery veggies and trying new things. Last week we got some Rosie Red Lettuce (oh so good and crispy!) and some kohlrabi, amongst other veggies. I roasted up the beets we got last week and they were a hit! I love beets, so I'm glad that I can introduce them more regularly without getting the wrinkly nose look from Scott. :)
Bye Bye house!
We have found an area where we would like to buy our next house that isn't too far for Scott to drive to work, that is in a good school district and that is close to our friends, too. We're going out with our realtors on Saturday to look at a few houses and try to identify some neighbourhoods so we can scout out some future house-sales in the area.
Scott is keeping busy at work. He enjoys being part of a start-up team with all of its challenges and rewards. He's also keeping up with his training and participating in a few local triathlons and running races. He's doing well, usually scoring in the top 10% of participants. Yay, Scott! :)
Liam and I are enjoying the summer at the pools in our village. We spent a lovely day yesterday with our playgroup at the pool and had a wonderful time! We vowed to try to do it at least once per week. Liam and I have been in the pool 2x per day for the past 2 weeks, so I think we're both feeling a bit waterlogged! We only went in once today for swim lessons and took a break from the pool this afternoon to just play at home. :)
beep beep beep!
I have signed Liam up for some research studies at the University of Indiana. There is one study where they are investigating the appropriateness of cochlear implants on infants, so they need normally-developing infants to do some listening activities. After having created and implemented research studies myself, I know how important they are and how interesting they can be. Don't worry, I won't enroll him in the poking and prodding study. :)
We have another 1 year birthday party this weekend for two of Liam's friends: Brooklynn and Zack are having a joint party. Then on Sunday our village is having an ice cream social in the park. Too fun!
Well, it's bedtime. Happy Wednesday!
love,
b
